Nvidia Driver 378.49 - any problems with F@H?

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to check to see if anyone was having any issues with the 378.49 driver with F@H. Don't want to download one that's gonna stop my GPU from folding! :P

Thanks! :D

I say jiggly-bytes when I see "GB".

It goes down better than you would expect.

Atleast according to this:

https://folding.stanford.edu/home/core-21-openmm-gpu-issues-with-new-windows-nvidia-drivers-375-57-and-375-63/

And this:

In the meantime, we strongly encourage you to try the hotfix( http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4288 ) or downgrade to the last known working Windows NVIDIA driver (372.70) if you would like to continue folding core 21 (OpenMM) GPU projects.

Last known working driver is 372.70,

i can't confirm this myself though,

haven't tried the latest one. Would be

nice with an update if there has finally

been some progress.

Edit: In hindsight i should have postponed

my comment :P

I am, indeed. I was coming here to seek insight on this. Apparently I found it. I have no further insight though... Good to know it's a driver thing though.

Thanks for the info! Looks like I'll not be updating until a newer driver comes out then :P

After the update it set my power limit and thermal limit to 0 and 60C respectively, but thats the only issue so far. Just had to fix that manually.

To make up for my previous blunder,

for once i decided to take the bullet

and try out the driver :P

Looks good so far, on x21 9175, the

ppd leaves something to be desired,

but i will leave it over night and see

what happens. Can't make any

conclusions yet.

Just as a tidbit, in the driver notes

you can also find this.

Seems like the ppd might be abit

lower, and the load fluctuates more

frequently though. Atleast compared

to like.. 361 something that i used

previously xD

Yep, the hotfix driver works.  A few folders on a different forum board been using the hotfix driver so far.  On Linux distros though, stay away from the new drivers for folding.  Those still have issues.

I know one other folder with a 980Ti noticed PPD drop on the new driver though.  So, I'm still staying far away from the new drivers.

Still going strong, returned 5 wu's with

no reported errors as far as i can see.

No problem even with the old oc, i'd say

the ppd might be about 10% lower, but

don't quote me on that.

Chances are i will revert and try an

older driver anyway, but atleast i haven't

seen any obvious issues.

Awesome, thanks for the update! I think I'm gonna stick with the 376.48 driver then :P
