Posted January 23, 2017 As part of a project I am going to be developing a backend infrastructure comprising of database, web and a bitcoin node. I have 2 processors I could use for the host machine (going to be virtualising it all). One is a q8200 without hardware virtualisation support, and the other is an E6750, slightly higher clock and hardware virtualisation, but only 2 cores. Given the choice, which one would you choose? That hardware support would make for a snappier VM, but will running 4 OS's on a dual core actually be quicker than using a quad? I will likely be using VirtualBox as it was fairly quick when that machine was in general use, and it's free
 My board is supported and I have bios to flash with updated microcode, hmmmm
