"Com.android.systemui has stopped" S4

I have a Galaxy S4 and it recently started to say, "Com.android.systemui has stopped" when I hold down the home key to get to the 'task manager'. I looked it up and the internet told me that something changed my system files(I didn't download anything that would affect the files). I have tried to factory reset my phone and even tried to re-download the stock rom off of the internet. When I used the stock rom it would work until I updated the google app. I have since uninstalled the updates to the google app. Any help would be great.
