GPU Folding Problems - Failed, Ready etc

Go to solution Solved by tobben,

Most likely a driver problem, what

version are you running?

we strongly encourage you to try the hotfix( http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4288 ) or downgrade to the last known working Windows NVIDIA driver (372.70) if you would like to continue folding core 21 (OpenMM) GPU projects.

So I've been trying to get my GPU to work with folding but it's just not wanting to at all - It's a 980 ti - GM200 core and it's stuck on the 'Failed' icon, when I did get it to do something it only went to 'Ready' and then 'Running' but after a few seconds it went back to 'Ready' and then 'Running' and then 'Ready' etc etc. https://gyazo.com/5c11aaad4c105f43d321ecc6f768e2e3

Any ideas how to fix it?

Many thanks

vK

Super noob question, how do I find which version I'm running xP

I'm downloading the version you sent me and we'll see how that works.

I've installed them, do I need to restart like before or is it fine?

EDIT: Seems to be running fine now, for now anyway - 0.01% - how fast is GPU folding meant to be? My CPU has been going for like 30 mins - 45 mins and on 34%.

Depends on the WU. I've seen my 970 finish a task within 2h as well as within 10, it depends on what the server sends you.

If you go to device manager in windows,

open the gpu tab, display adapters or

whatever it is. Double click on the gpu

and go to the driver tab, the last 5 digits

should be it. You can also download/install

something like GPU-Z.

Probably not if it didn't prompt you to

do so, more than likely won't hurt though.

As imakuni mentioned, not all wu's are

the same, different sizes etc etc.. So

there isn't a solid answer on that, if the

load consistently stays above 90% it's

likely fine though. Assuming correct

clockspeed, temps etc..
