Ghosting on a new monitor

I recently replaced an old ASUS monitor which I've had for 7 years with a BenQ GW2270 and I'm seeing ghosting when scrolling and in games. On dark objects it's a red shadow and on light objects a blue one.

It's connected with a DVI-VGA adapter because the old monitor only had VGA and I haven't bought a DVI cable yet for the new one.

Is changing the cable going to stop the ghosting because DVI is digital, are there any other solutions or is there nothing I can do about it?

Although you should use a DVI cable, ghosting shouldn't happen from normal scrolling. Try getting anew cable and if the problem persists you should probably try to RMA it.
