Pairing a cpu with the rx 470

Okay first things first I bought a rx 470 as a christmas gift to mehself to be an massive upgrade to my r7 250x (still a decent card at the $25 i got it at). But I am still new to the new era gaming scene (I used to just play minecraft and LoL). So I didn't keep in mind my cpu which is a a8 3870k which worked amazingly well with my R7 250x because of crossfire. So now I'm stuck with a ballin AF card that I got for $150 shortly after release and it sits there barely putting in any effort. After digging around I find out my A8 is severly bottlenecking my 470. So now that I made you guys are read all that let me ask a question to the entire forums here. I have $170 to spend I was wanting to get an Intel Xeon x5670 or a x5660 and pair it with my 470.  The cpu is 60 and the board is 100 but i leave room for a heatsink jus in case. But I can't find anywhere that will tell me how these two will work together. So I am begging even overclocking my a8 to 4ghz doesn't halp. Will this cpu work with the 470 and if not I am open to any suggestions.

wait for ryzen 170 should get you a quad core, mobo and 8gb of ram.

Why bother recommend the i3 when the G4560 is cheaper and still has hyperthreading? It's only missing a few instruction sets which a gamer wouldn't use anyway

People said that about the damn Athlon X4 845 and that was worse clock for clock compared to the 860K in games even tough the 845 had increased IPC and faster cache! >:O

@Nena360 @dtr146 I agree with nena! If you can push it I'd go with an i3 since there'd be an upgrade path for later

Except this is Intel we're talking about, and they don't make IPC improvements anymore

Does the Pentium have less cache yes or no? If it has less it will suffer the same way the 845 did...

It has 4MB of L3 cache, which makes it pretty much half an i7 (2c/4t vs. 4c/8t).

The i3 and the Pentium have exact same cache? Well in theory it will be same clock for clock most likely... (unless the game uses the instruction needed which have been a issue for Phenom II chips where FX chips far surpassed them)

The Pentium is missing AVX, AVX2 and one other that I can't remember... the people using those probably have the budget to not get a Pentium though

 No one seems to read my post. to get a x5660 xeon i need to buy a board i only have 170 the xeon is 60 the board is 100 and the heatsink is 10. I have a a8 3870k which is on the fm1 socket so the i3 is out of the question i could get the pentium but i also need a cpu that can handle recording and editing (mine barely can). So thats why i wanted the x5660 and not to mention it has hyperthreading!

And 8gbs... no just stop u show me a set of ddr4 a ryzen cpu and board under 170. not to mention the cpu doesnt come with a heatsink.

Im not just gaming i forgot to mention i am also editing and recording in need some cores to do that and i only have 170. the upgrade is out there and the x5660 sits on the lga1366 so i can get the i7 for that socket later but the xeon (especially overclocked) is a beast. I just dont know if the xeon will bottleneck the 470 being a badass card as it is

For what its worth, I HAD the i3 6100... bottlenecked my rx470 like crazy even when i had it baseclock OC'd to 4.1Ghz.
