120mm magnet fans

cubies1982

Does anyone know how I can get a list of all the 120mm case fans that use magnetic bearing type?

Why magnetic? Ball bearing is normally just as good.

I think it's because wide range of rpm that can be set.

From 400 to 2400.

I was also interested in buying those fans, but found some review, where I noticed that those fans aren't as quiet as I would want them to be.

Eh, I have delta ball bearing fans that go from 400 to 3600RPM.

The magnetics are probably quieter though.

400 to 3600RPM? Which ones are you using?

Ah, I don't think they sell them anymore, but they were these:

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835706039

As a warning though, these are probably not for people that like silence (At least when the fan starts ramping up). Also, these fans are 38mm thick vs the standard 25mm thick fans you're probably used to seeing.

Oh, sorry, playing with AI suite to remember the speeds. It's 330RPM to 3700RPM. PWM from 13% to 100%. Could also be a AI suite reporting glitch. I have no real way of actually checking if the fans are spinning at 330 RPM (They do slow down a lot though).

Yeah that's true.

But be Quiet silent wings 3 are still the best choise for quiet fans if you ask me.

Arh yeah I need 25mm ones.

What are high RPM fans if I want to turn my PC case into a windtunnel?

Gentle typhoons .

I have an AP-30 ( 4250RPM ) in my H440 , and modded it with a 4th wire ( PWM ) . Upon startup , it ramps up to its max with the rest of the fans , its loud as hell .

But , due to the PWM , i keep it at around 1000-1500RPM , and it cant be heard over the rest of the case fans .

Probably the gentle typhoons or the Noctua iPPC fans. Those are high RPM and 25mm thick.

Delta makes a 25mm thick 3400RPM fan, but I don't recommend it. It has this weird bearing noise at the lower RPMs. It's not dead silent like their 38mm thick fans.

Granted though, delta fans are amazing because my Hyper 212+ never gets dirty. To clean, just run the fans at 100%. lol. Also works great for scaring my dog away.

How much CFM does that put out? I didn't know the Gentle typhoons went that high.

You could record in in slo mo with a smartphone and literally count the amount of turns like I did. It helps to mark one of the blades with a sticker to make it easier to see.

Probably Gentle Typhoons. If you're actually contemplating high rpm fans and don't just want adequate cooling, listen to some sound tests on youtube to make sure that you'll be fine with the noise.

No, they are 25mm thick. @ColonelThunder is referring to the model names AP-30 and AP-31.
