Refinishing polymer and metal - scratches and scuffs

HughMungusCynicalAnarch

so i would like to refinish this(i have no idea how it got like that, havent even used the damn thing a lot)

Id like it to be somewhat durable, just a tad so that something dull scratching it wont make a mark.

would this work?

do i need some sand paper perhaps?

I wouldn't sandpaper it, that'll leave it with a worse finish.

Since you're in your parents' house see if your dad has a buffing wheel. Put it on a low speed and buff away.
