is my tv 1080p?

danavinette

hi guys, i recently added an rx 480 to my gaming pc, before i bought it i had been gaming on 1360x768 because games are easier to run in that resolution for my igpu. Now that i have the 480 i tried running the games on 1080p and thet look horrible, they look blurry and the image quality is not crisp. on the other hand when i set them to 1360x768 they they look so much better, i also tried 720p and it looks blurry too, as well as supersampling other resolutions through AMD drivers, like 1440p and 4k, but all of them look blurry. i was thinking that maybe my "1080p" tv is not 1080p at all, i also want to mention that this tv is a cheap brand. i tried 1080p on another tv (sony) and it looks good though.

Most 720p TVs are 1360x768, not 1280x720. Your TV may also be doing weird things with the display like doing a slight zoom on the image. See if there's an option to change the aspect ratio or something since it's usually buried there.

Also if the TV does say it's 1080 something compatible, it's probably 1080i.

make sure the tv is scanning for the correct resolution to use (autoscan)

No it's not 1080p, how ever you can add it in the AMD Control center.
