1440p @ 24in or 27in

Go to solution Solved by roylapoutre,

The only reason imo to go for a 1440p 27" monitor right now would be the possibility of 144Hz with Gsync/Freesync combined to an IPS panel, because UNFORTUNATELY, no manufacturer seems to care about 1440p resolution at a lower size than 27" when it comes to gaming monitor. There's a ton of 27" 1440p 144Hz IPS Gsync/Freesync monitor out there, and not one with the same specs with a 24-25" panel *sighs*

And it's a shame because I find the pixel density quite perfect on a 25" 1440p monitor. 27" is not impressive if you sit ~70cm away from your screen, pixels are starting to get noticeable just like on my "old" 22" 1080p monitor. And no, if you're not blind and/or are not sitting accross the room, you won't need 125% UI scalling to use your computer.

i want to go 1440p but would it look better on a bigger monitor at 27in or look amazing at 24in, since there is less room and more pixels? right?

can't wrong with either of those sizes. but personally having this size, 27 inch 1440p is a nice sweet spot. unless you sit very close you won't notice the pixels

What is the size/resolution of your current monitor?

Are you running Windows?

I ask these questions because if you like the 100% display scale size of your current monitor (ex 24" 1080p 91ppi) a 1440p 27" monitor is 108ppi.

UI elements will appear slightly smaller in comparison, but you will have a lot more screen real estate.

For reference a 24" 1440 screen will be 122ppi and you might find it necessary to use 125% scaling in windows.

depends on the distance you're sitting from your display.

having a 30+" 1080p TV right in front of you is pixelcounting nightmare, having a 24" 4K panel 3ft away from you is unreadable mess, having a 24" 4K panel pressed against your nose when your glasses broke is a freaking godsend :P
