How to check if the monitor is actually runing at 144hz

Le_haos

I have a Dell S2417DG monitor for couple weeks now, absolutely love it. It has a 144hz refresh rate. I recently went to my friend's house, and he has the same monitor with me, but his monitor just feel a lot smoother than mine. We both play CSGO. In net_graph, it shows I am getting constant 200+ fps. I am using Cable Matters Gold Plated DisplayPort to DisplayPort Cable 6 Feet. Is there a way to check if my monitor is actually running at 144hz?

If it feels smooth like butter, you're good.

-display settings>advanced settings. (Assuming you probably already did that)

-move a Window around

-play a game and test it with the fps. Low would cause problems with it actually displaying 144hz without 144+fps

Do you have an AMD graphics card? If he has an NVidia one then it would take advantage of G-SYNC
