Got it. But I cant delete, not because I dont have admin priv, it's open. I can use JRT and that stops it for a bit, I'll get back in a bit.

You open file location.

Go back to task manager, start killing off those exe's.

*It shows 7-10 of them exe's, if you remove ONE, does it come back, or does the list shrink and shrink the more you remove them from running.? Or just reload the exe again?

If they are not coming back, then when you remove the last exe from task manager, you quickly alt-tab to the other window and delete the exe file that was previously locked.

/Not always an option if they keep re-loading.

-SOLVED-

Hey guys, recently a program called "handful.exe" has been showing up in my Task Manager and I have no idea where it came from. I was wondering if any of you could shed some light on this process. Maybe it's harmful and I'm incompetent but I would just like to know.

Thanks!

It's definitely something harmful , especially the amount of RAM its using . Was it something that you recently installed ? Go to "Program and feature" and sort the programs on when it was recently installed . Maybe it came bundled in an installer .

I don't think I have enough RAM to handle her handful.exe though , I might crash trying . Maybe uninstalling her from my life might be a good idea

Hey so I figured out that it's playing audio ads in the background and it's in my audio tray and shows up as like 10+ different sources. Any Ideas?

Boot into Kaspersky's Rescue Disk and try to use the virus scan or Malwarebytes to find the malware.

It's not showing up in Malwarebytes, Zemana, JRT, HitMan Pro, AdwCleaner. I don't know where it came from and it DOESN'T show up in programs and features.

Rightclick the handful.exe in Task manager and OPEN FILE LOCATION

It will point you in the right direction of where it is, and then you can take appropriate measures.

While I was typing my response, my PC was restated because of handful.exe. This may have seemed confusing but after much trial and error I think I finally figured it out. "Handful.exe," the file, had complete system permissions, hid in the Program Files (x86) folder in a hidden folder that i had to change to non-hidden to view it. If I deleted the file, it would restart my PC and just come back. What I had to do is:
1. Deny all system permissions
2. Change the folder (which was called "Increments") to be visible
3. Individually delete all processes in task manager
4. Delete "handful.exe" before the processes restarted
5. Delete the folder "Increments"  There was also a folder called Mkt and maruguerite, if anyone wanted to know.
6. Empty recycling bin, CCleaner, Malwarebytes, etc.
It was weird and kept coming back, but I hope it's gone for good.
Thanks for all the help guys! This community truly is great.
