Gabe Newell confirms new IP in the Half-Life/Portal universe

In a recent Reddit AMA (that finished just a few minutes ago), our lord and savior Gabe Newell answered many questions ranging from Source 2, to DOTA, to office life, and of course, Half-Life 3.

 

While Gabe did not confirm Half-Life 3 (in fact, he joked about the number "3" instead), he did confirm that new IP are on the way in regards to the Half-Life/Portal universe. Gabe did confirm that the previously announced Half-Life/Portal movies being directed by J.J. Abrams are still in the works. It is very possible that is what he is referring to, although the comment about the new IP and the movies were in separate comments.

I really don't get this attitude. It's not harming you in any way shape or form if they make a movie out of a game's lore. If it sucks, it sucks. Why is it such a big deal that they try to make one?

It's out here in the states. I heard it wasn't even that great of a movie, let alone an Assassin's Creed movie but I haven't seen it myself yet.

I thought I set it to at least 2x. I'll change it whenever I feel like it, I don't think it affects performance though.

Intelectual property. It means a completely new game title (series). Just not sure if it means a new sequel here (which it shouldn't).
