WHAT MONITOR DO I HAVE?!?!?!?!

Start > Device manager > Display/Monitor

ok, so I recently built a computer and my dad said he would give me 1 of his 5 dell monitors. Thats awesome that I got a free monitor, but I have no clue to what monitor it is so I cant put it in my pcpartpicker. is there some sort of software that could tell me what monitor I have? (I have checked "system information")

should be a model number on the monitor why do you need to put it in pcpartpicker if your getting it free

Somtimes you can see it in the display settings.

 

Go do device manager, click Display Adapters, Click the GPU - Properties, click the monitor tab.

 

There may also be model info on the back of the display.

Funny thing is sometimes they don't have a signature that the GPU will pick up on...

Dell monitors are pretty solid when it comes to device signatures

my work laptop is connected to an older Dell monitor via VGA cable and device manager is still able to identify the model
