I've heard of issues with the 1080 like:

- fans are at 45% all the time

- RGB colour on top not equal to bottom

- software is super buggy

and while it OC's well, it's loud.

idk

My fans are often not spinning at all (default fan curve)

Software seems fine to me but I Oc'd with EVGA precision anyway.

RGB looks consistent.

Not loud can barely hear my rig and it sits on the desk with me not under it.

My fans are usually at 0. When they ramp up I barely hear them. I've never seen temps above 70 degrees even with overclocking in furmark.

The RBGs are the same on my card.

The only bug in the software is that the colors on the screen and the ones the card shows are off a little. You need to adjust it to get the color you want.

Do you have a source for what you're saying?

The strix is one of the best boosted cards but relative loud. MSI gaming are very good  coolers and very silent. The Z variant is also a top performer but around here way to expensive to justify the cost over the x that is close to the strix. The EVGA with ACX 3.0 coolers are also very good option that is also relative silent.

For me it would be one of those 3 and personally prefer the EVGA because of looks, and otherwise my 2nd choice would be a MSI gaming variant.

All the other reviews I saw for this card were extremely positive. Obviously OP's decision is his own, but I still wouldn't shy away from recommending the Strix.

Nice.

The point I was making was you can find a bad video for any brand as they are all opinions. The Strix is a great card and you were fast to condemn it without owning one.

EDIT: Also fixed or not that should never have happened from a "top manufacturer"!

Fair point. As you said earlier, don't base your opinion on one person.

Yeah something went wrong, so I was mashing the post button a few times to see if it helps. But nothing until I refreshed the browser. :)
