Single 165hz 1440p Ips G-sync monitor Or 4k Ips monitor + 144hz monitor?

Depends on your workload or priorities.

Gaming? The Acer XB271HU all the way - the combination of the high refresh rate, IPS panel and G-Sync makes it a fantastic monitor. I myself have the similarly specced ASUS PG279Q and it's great.

Productivity? A two monitor setup should help with your workflow and the higher resolution of the 4K monitor might help if you're dealing with things like photo or video editing.

Acer XB271HU* / *Insert 4k monitor around 400 dollars* and *Insert 1080p 100somethinghz around 200 dollars*

the second option is actually cheaper and sounds better to me. opinions?

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

I got a 1070 and that's totally overkill for the 1080p screen i currently have, I once tried using my brother's pc monitor and I really liked having 2 monitors. I have never tried 4k, 1440p, higher refresh rates or g sync. Maybe it is a good idea to get a single monitor, I will look into the asus pg279q.

Get 1080p for games. I have the 1440p 165Hz and there is no difference vs 1080p in games except less FPS and less AA needed.

For desktop use however it is miles better and 4k will be even better.
