Is Gsync Worth It?

This guy (OP) has a pair of 1070's

I understood it as planning to buy, not already have. Of course if OP already owns one 1070 or two then I would personally get the non-gsync 100Hz 3440x1440.

Since OP plays FPS games, a super high refresh monitor will do more than Gsync, so either a 100Hz ultrawide (run it at 16:9 in windowed mode or letterboxed, if the game doesn't like it, and in games that work, it wil be awesome).

Or a 144Hz 1440p would also be a fine choice. Not choosing Gsync allows the choice of an IPS panel without paying $700 for it.

It needs to be 1440p, I would like to have at least 120hz (144hz is the sweet spot for me) it needs to have really good colour reproduction out of the box, gsync would be nice but not a necessity. My budget is $600 usd to $750 usd (or cheaper)

Asus PG279Q like the other guy mentioned

Dell S2716DG (TN, but a very good TN)

Dell S2416DG (same as above, but it's 24in)

Acer Predator XB271HU

Freesync - Asus MG279Q

The Asus MG279Q could be a good alternative too, it's cheaper, only inconvenience is that it's only freesync monitor.

I have a limited budget for monitors and play a lot of fps as well as moba's, rpg's, and action/adventure games. Is gsync really worth the price? I could get 2 monitors for the price of 1 gsync monitor with the same specs. I also need this monitor for workstation needs. If I got the gsync monitor, I could either get 2560 x 1440 or 2560 x 1080. If I got the non-gsync monitor I could get 3440 x 1440

I have a laptop that has Gsync, and I would say definitely for modern titles, and especially if you don't maintain a VERY consistent 55-60 FPS. Stay with 16:9. A lot of major titles still have issues with 21:9, etc.

It is 144hz

Then apply the same logic too there. If you aren't maintaining 120+ FPS, it might look alot better with Gsync.

Well, I will be running it with a 1070/2x 1070's in sli

If your budget allows for a 1070 or two, then I would definitely try to fit a gsync monitor in there. There are some that go for $350-400 but are only 1080p.

Of course if you're not planning to buy soon, you could wait for vega, and get a freesync which is the same functionality but the monitors cost a lot less.

Stay with the 1070, this "Hey, maybe AMD will be competitive for the first time in two decades thing" is really cringeworthy.

That's like, your opinion man

Ehm. K?

You've gotta understand that what you said up there doesn't sound particularly reasonable. It wasn't so much the content ("I think Vega's not worth waiting for"), but the word choices. :P

But why?  SLI has so many problems.  Save your money and buy a 1080ti in March.
