So basically I was trying different stuff on manual mode on my camera for long exposure pictures, not sure if I have the ISO or anything out of balance but no matter wht I adjust it still shows a very dark image all thought I have a bright light in my room. Any help??

ISO 100, f5.6, 125th shutter speed.....

 

you need to read up on what the settings do

 

To make a picture brighter:

Higher ISO 

Wider Aperture 

Longer shutter speed

 

You have neither of these things set on the camera

 

If you have it on a tripod and want to take as till you can try setting your shutter speed 

You can monitor your exposure on the scale at the bottom

best way to learn is to pick one of the settings ex. ISO

and then crank it all the way up - see what happens

and then crank it all the way down - see what happens

 

etc.  etc do this for shutterspeed and other settings and you can begin to understand what these settings do

put the iso to 400 and aperture to f3.5 if you have the kit lens and around 1/60th shutter speed.

 

make sure you're not zoomed in on the kit lens cause it only opens up at f5.6 when zoomed in all the way to 55mm.
