Nvidia Tegra Note 7 coming out November 12th in the US with Game Streaming!!!!!!

Update - 11/12/13: So the Tegra Note has been officially announced for the US and is available for pre-order on newegg.com. But, Their is no game streaming feature unfortunately, looks like fudzilla herd a false rumor or just speculated wrong. Nvidia say it is because the WiFi in the Tegra Note is only single band 5 GHz not dual band 2.5 GHz and 5 GHz like the Shield has, so it is incapable of providing the same experience performance as the shield. I think Nvidia did this so the people that would have bought this instead of a shield will buy a shield or adding dual band WiFi would have brought the price over $200 to keep it cheaper then the nexus 7 but I personally would have paid the extra $20-40 for Nvidia to put in dual band WiFi and their gamesteaming feature.

http://www.fudzilla.com/home/item/33019-tegra-note-7-to-get-gamstream-support

So Fudzilla is claiming the Nvidia Tegra note 7 is coming out November 12th

tegra_note7-1.jpg

It will appratly have

  • 7-Inch 1280x800 IPS screen
  • 1.8 GHz Tegra 4 processor
  • 1 GB Ram
  • Wireless 2.4 GHz 802.11n
  • 16 GB storage and micro SD slot
  • 4100 mAh battery
  • Micro hdmi out
  • 5MP Rear Camera, VGA front Camera
  • Dual front facing speakers
  • Pressure Sensing stylus (Nvidia's DirectStylus)
  • Support for keyboads and Controllers via usb
  • 119 x 119 x 9.6 mm, 320g
  • Gamestream support like Nvidia Shield!!!
  • $199 Price point!!!

If this is true I think is will be one of the highest selling tablets on the market.

The only bone I have to pick with is the low screen resolution but Nvidia probably did this on purpose for a few reasons;

1.) Lower resolution means better game performance

2.) Only 7 inches still decent pixel density

3.) Getting a Stylus to working a high res screen is pretty tricky. Even more so when you consider this is a passive stylus not an active one, like a wacom or s-pen from samsung.(it will still have pressure sensitivity like the active ones though)

4.) keeps the cost down

I think it will sell more then the Shield because it is more versatile;

1.) You can use it as a tablet

2.) Smaller tablet form factor perfect for reading e-books

3.) Stylus very good and useful for students for note taking ( add those who just like to doddle when board

4.) Micro SD card slot that many tablet makers leave out now

5.) Bigger screen better for watching movies, TV shows or LTT vids.

6.) ALL the same functionality of shield only with out being build into a controller

It is also cheaper then the Samsung Note 8 ($399 USD) only other tablet in this Form factor with a stylus and cheaper then the Nexus 7 2013 ($229 USD) and will be faster then both and have more functionality with game streaming etc.

What do you think? Will this be a big hit or a flop?

It's great that it supports streaming, but without a proper controller this is useless

Hmm, I actually have a bluetooth android controller. So this is very interesting to me. Since I'm getting an Nvidia card here soon, I might actually consider this over the shield, that is, of course, if it has console mode. (or whatever Nvidia calls it)

Very interesting! Would be cool to stream Civ 5 to this and play on my couch with a stylus.

This has me very excited. I was tempted to get a Nexus 7 a while back but I decided against it. When i first heard rumors of the Tegra 7 I was quite excited. While I would prefer a higher resolution, I think 1280x800 will be "good enough" especially if the price point is as low as is rumored. I am especially excited about front facing speakers, something that was a major reason for me not buying a Nexus 7.

I am really hoping I can play some Hearthstone on this baby through nVidia's streaming. That would be perfect with the stylus.

Tablets are stupid

I think the main point of this is that you can take it any where in the house, hook up an HDMI cable and a wireless/USB Controller and play your PC games anywhere.

It's great that it supports streaming, but without a proper controller this is useless

no it s the opposite,

it has both hdmi and usb.

idk you but i can t use a controller so shield is useless for me.

this on the other hand enable you to turn any tv in your house in a monitor and use a regular kb/mouse on it.

and then you have a usable portable tablet when not gaming. you can t say that about the shield.

if there s the 100$ discount on it like the shield when you get a gpu, i m getting one.

this tablet has been available for a while in China and Taiwan, and there are many unboxing of this tablet in Chinese. But it is priced very closely with the new nexus 7 16gb wifi, not as low price as it is in USD$...

when using gamestream from a PC to the tablet to the TV.... does it occupy the PC entirely ? coz id like for it still to be usable for other stuff.. watching youtube videos, listening to music, web browsing..etc

the shield has this limitation... does this tablet have the same limitation?

yes the pc is used to calculate everythng for the game,

the tablet is a shield without the controller part and a bigger screen, everything else is identical

My guess is they will eventually be able to figure out a way around this. Streaming is still beta (I think). All they need to do is route the rendered graphics to the device (shield or tablet or whatever) and the main PC would be usable for other stuff. Possibly slower though if the game requires a lot of CPU. I also think in the future they will be able to stream multiple games to multiple devices at the same time. With SLI it could easily render more than one game at a time, especially at 720p. Not sure what CPU requirements would be though.

Thing is, nVidia have already developed GRID.. And they will make you pay through the teeth for it.. You simply can't make a ghetto GRID.. The software simply doesn't exist to do that.
