There's no real reason why not, some do it as a kind of "pre-release" or such of things to come, such as Kill 10 Zombies when there's no zombie feature yet. Some do it just to catch hackers and will dev-ban anyone who gets it (Payday 2 has a few like this, minus the dev ban because no one cares it's Payday 2)

I'm no achievement hunter but there are achievements out there that seem unachievable, but actually are if you already spent a lot of time in the game. some who really like said game will do everything they can to get it.

The achievement discussion has been a moot point since its mainstream introduction on the xb360. Didnt matter then. Still doesnt matter now. If there were tangible benefits tied to achievements id say yes. Otherwise, what does it matter?

I think it's dumb. On that same sentiment, it's also dumb to make basic things to progress the game achievements too.

I dont Care about achievements, but some ppl do, and some ppl also have OCD. I dont like false mysteries, ppl Who played tíbia Will know what im talking about (the game pretends a lot of stuff exist, and nothing leads anywere)

It's dumb in a sense that any games with achievements for achieving 100% of the achievements you can achieve by achieving the completion of the game cannot ever be completed with 100% achievement status since one cannot achieve 100% of the achievements in a games' list of achievable achievements because they cannot achieve certain achievements during the normal course of achieving game completion.

 

If you thought that sentence was dumb then you'll know exactly what I think of unachievable achievements in games. They're dumb and should NOT be allowed. Ever.

Seems pretty stupid to add achievements if they aren't able to be completed.

yeah i agree adding achievements that you cant get is stupid i mean some people like to go for every achievement in everygame and they like to show it off so i see why this might annoy people

I really never cared to the whole achievement deal... I recall a couple of years ago when they were just starting to become a thing, my cousin got on my xbox 360 and was like "oh you got so little achievements" and I was like.... wut?

Same, if I never got a single one playing a game, I would not care, or notice, if anything I wish they didnt exist so they didnt pop up and take me out of my immersion

If I cared about achievements, I still don't think I'd care.

I'd read about it, find out it's unobtainable, and then go about my day. It's not like it's questioning my skill in game, or my ability to solve a problem, or resolve to get an achievement, it's just not possible to achieve. It might be annoying if you don't want to look up achievements to figure out how to acquire them, but you'd never get them all playing that way no matter how much time you put into the game. A lot of achievements are really obscure.

 

Unless I'm missing something, I think it's perfectly fine to add something like that, ableit, ultimately pointless.

If this is a glaring enough issue to you to warrant complaining and blogging about it, then I think you might have larger concerns. =p

 

Honestly, I just enjoy the quirky comments they add. It's sort of like editors comments in a way.

but completely unattainable, no.
