Creative Sound Blaster keyboard and mouse

Creative known for their audio devices seems to have venture into other computer parts, with their release of the Sound BlasterX Vanguard K08 Keyboard and Siege M04 mouse. The Vanguard K08 is a 109 keyboard that comes with custom made PRES (Perceive-React-Execute Switches) Omron switches, rated up to 70 million presses. It's has a 1.5mm distance pre travel distance, with up to 3.5mm of total travel distance vs 2.0mm pre travel and 4.0mm total travel on other mechanical switches. This makes the K08 custom switches 25% faster and 12.5% more key presses. It also features

The Siege M04 mouse uses a Pixart PWM 3360 sensor, that has a dpi range of 200 to 12,000. 7 fully programmable buttons, a 32bit high speed MCU micro controller up to 1000Hz polling rate, and Omron mechanical switches on the primary left and right buttons rated at 50 million clicks.

That is NOT something I would expect from Creative at all. But who knows, maybe it's actually good? And yes, I will say that I don't agree with "RGB ALL THE THINGS!!!!!!!!!!!".

I don't see what's wrong with RGB. Few to no one has them doing the rainbow pattern. They just have the option to set the colour to whatever they want or off. It just gives more options to people.

Mouse looks fine, the led strip is well implemented and makes sense from design point but adds 0 benefits unlike backlit keyboards. 

 

Rgb mouse is like neon lights on cars... Freaking NFS:U2 (best NFS ever made).

 

Razer's deathadder is pretty expensive fir what it is... I expect this to be same price or cheaper a tiny little bit.

As Bensemus pointed out, having RGB peripherals / components doesn't mean you have to leave it at the rainbow disco show configuration; it just gives you the option (sometimes) to set the color to whatever color scheme your rig has going. It's better than being stuck with a blue LED keyboard when you have a black and red themed rig.

Too many keyboards in the market.  Every motherfucker and their dog seems to be making mech keyboards now.  And making ones with the numpad is an instant-no-sale for me.  Who the fuck uses the numpad?

I guess they can justify charging a higher cost for dem Omron mech switches on the KB assuming it's built at a decent enough quality.
