Is this worth it?

I am thinking on buying a server which has 

4X E7450s

128GB DDR2 RAM

NO HDDs

and the most important thing of all a DVD drive, unfortunately it doesn't have light scribe ;(

is this worth it if I can get it for lets say under £50???

Depends, do you like noise or have a good place to keep it so you won't hear it?

If so then sure, otherwise I would look for something quiet.

I can easily deal with the noise, some how, so yea that's not a problem

for " under £50" and specs like that, I would want to make sure that it works before buying.

Only thing I don't like about it is DDR2 ram which no days is a pain to find decent sized DIMMs and over priced, not that the 128GB it has already is small. At least the processors do support VT-x.

yea, I won't need any more than 128GB probably and if I do I anit buying 256GB of DDR2 RAM as that's expensive as fuck. and I think I will run a coupple of VM's off it, one question though, can you use SATA drives instead of SAS without converters???

I'm assuming this server has disk slots/backplane? Yes a SATA disk natively supports being plugged in to a SAS backplane. You only need SAS to SATA cables when you aren't using a backplane or disk shelf (which ofc has a SAS backplane).

360w tdp of CPU.  It's not going to be a cheap server to run.
