R-134a passive "Fluid" CPU Cooler

Hey,

I saw Linus's last video, so I was thinking may be Fluid R-134a can be used for passive cooling technology. R-134a is really cheap. I have once used that in a science project of mine.

Well, I'm not an expert, I'm just if it's possible or not. Just Saying.

Haha, thanks for the suggestion. I don't even have the necessary knowledge, neither the tools to do that project.

It looks like they built a case out of a radiator. So it might be possible, with a large enough radiator, to do the same thing. Zalman used to have this huge external radiator/reservoir thing.

Wow, R-134a in a cooling solution? In the European Union this stuff is illegal. Car makers nearly got sued....

I would assume that they would consider it harmful to the environment just like R-12.

Said to be around 1500 times more problematic than carbon dioxide regarding the Green house effect. But I would need to make aresearch now, to remember everything again...

They now use a gas known as R-410A, which is much more eco friendly.

Or carbon dioxide, as MB/Daimler did.

Either way technicians are now required to be more careful.

 

Note: Not a fan of the brand, but the carbon dioxide was first a thing I thought could be used in AiOs.

 

Then I read that the neccessary psi/bars is ridiculous high.....
