Registered ECC is pretty cheap and I was wondering if some pulled out of a HP server would work.

It supports Xeons on 1366, so almost certainly.

I don't see any indication of registered or unregistered RAM is used, but Ebay says registered.

EVGA SR-2 has Intel 5520 chipset so it should work with Registered memory.

They are the last two of a set of six I purchased for my Sabertooth X58, they did not work in the Sabertooth presumably because they're Registered.

OK, no problem. I will probably hang onto them until I have a pair of desktop sticks to swap the heat spreaders onto.

It will work but isn't needed.

 

I'd be buying some standard Corsair vengeance or Avexir core sticks if it was my board.

Buying 1866-2200 sticks and running them lower in the 1600-1866 speed and tightening the timings to cas 7.
