Don't look like this board will be getting any heatsinks for them VRM and mosfets. It does not have mounting holes on either side of them or the outline for a heatsink drawn onto the board. That socket cover thing is new and there is something between the 1st ram slot and motherboard mounting hole. Looks like a fan header or something.

yea , shame , but you can invest a whole 5 dolla to get some aftermarket VRM heatsinks and be fine

My first Motherboard was an ECS board when 775 was still top of the line. Didn't know they still made boards.

guys this is a B350 board , and from ECS , who are mostly dealing w/ oem ,

this is most likely a 49.99~69.99 cookie cutter board for the 80ish% of people who just want a computer that works

or prebuilt systems that you see on ebay ever so often 

 

 

AMEN , my boards are either brown or GREEN (intel / supermicro oem) ,

and they go in a case where i have to be superman to complain about its non flashyness

I understand this board is not meant for overclocking. 

 

 

 

BUT 

the whole assload of am3+ boards, notably matx ones, that supported, even advertised overclocking and where NOT built for it causing many hardware issues for first time overclockers, giving overclocking in general a bad name for being dangerous, left a bad taste in the mouths of many. Hell I even remember a few that listed support for the high tdp things like the 9590 but had issues. 

 (btw nice little database here for how beefy boards' vrms are.)

oh I am aware of the whole AM3 overclocking dilemma , but this is ECS , they don't advertise this as oc board , this is most likely a budget board or a board for OEM partners , its just that the chipset supports overclocking
