[EVGA Confirmed Fake] EVGA To Sell AMD Vega-based Video Cards

The instant their VRMs started overheating I knew they'd switch to the people who INVENTED heat, AMD.

*Professor Mode Kicks In*

Actually, James Prescott Joule studied the nature of heat and discovered a lot of things about heat including how it worked. Due to his diligent research, we have named a unit, the joule, a measure of energy, after him. AMD nor Nvidia discovered heat. The only thing they do relevant to heat is produce devices that take in electricity and put out heat and return calculations. They have also done some research about heat transfer using different materials including indium solder.

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Well, CPUs you kind of can... But not the point.

I'm excited, and though I don't really fall in thw user base that AMD seems to be targeting (I really don't need 8 cores, and I don't game too much) I can see the potential. I just hope they don't screw it up

i am excited just because i want to play minecraft :-p

and because i love to multitask

If this were to be true, my next graphics card might well be Evga. I really like how they won't void warranty even when watercooling.

always hated EVGAs coolers, they look like shit to me but this is nice because people will  get more choice i guess

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Those new ones do look extremely gaudy.

They have the best customer service though, which is the main reason I almost exclusively buy from them.

They accept returns so long as the card is returned as how you got it. You could probably solder voltage read points and whatnot to it and de-solder them before returning and they'd still accept it :P

Yeah but, AMD wise, Sapphire will always be better, at least as of now. They got a much more experienced background on these cards than EVGA. Likewise, they wouldnt be as good with Nvidia cards, as EVGA is.

At least i presume it should be like that, unless they share schematics and whatnot lmao.

They dropped the ball with polaris though :/

It's nice that AMD fans can now experience the thrill of buying poor quality EVGA GPU's.

it's not GPU's, it's GPUs and even that is wrong!

it's actually video cards - EVGA manufactures video cards

Supposedly whenever XFX stopped making Nvidia video cards exclusively, Nvidia didn't like that so now XFX only makes AMD video cards. :^)

I wonder if Nvidia has a bit of 3DFX left inside them. Because if they drive away AIB partners and are the only ones manufacturing cards for their GPU....

BTW, those that think EVGA don't build cards for weak GPU:

http://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=512-A8-N403-LR

That performs slower than the original Geforce 6200 by a lot-in most cases its around half the performance.

I'm not interested in EVGA but I hope this rumor makes Sapphire get off they backs and bring back Vapor-X cards with Vega. Fury Nitro was mostly meh with some nice features but 480 was dud. Last real sexy card they made was 290x vapor-x with that sweet ass custom vrm design and improved trixx cooler

No thanks, stay with Nvidia and make their cards burn up with bad VRM cooling please.

I don't get comments like this. I see them every time something like this is posted.

>Nvidia has a breakthrough in AI

>"NO THANKS NVIDIA OMG STICK TO GPUs !!!! !11!"

>Nvidia doesn't release an overpriced video card at CES

>"OMG NVIDIA WHY DO YOU TALK ABOUT AI AND ALL THIS OTHER BULLSHIT AND NOT RELEASE A VIDEO CARD THAT I'M NOT GOING TO BUY ANYWAYS??"

>Game developers talk about some other game that their studio is working on

>"OMG STICK TO <the game this person plays> PLEASE AND FIX THIS"

>Trump talks about some bad stuff that happens

>"OMG TRUMP STICK TO PRESIDENTIAL STUFF"

I can go on. Meanwhile, these people have such an irrational logic that no matter what a person or company does, they always have a fucking irrational criticism that no one cares about. EVGA's VRM issue wasn't a gigantic issue. EVGA issued a statement because it was a PR opportunity first and foremost, and second they wanted to make it known that they take care of their customers when something bad happens.

Literally every company ever has had some kind of fuck up somewhere down the line. Are you going to hold this shit over EVGA, or any other company or person forever? Grow up kid.

So, does this make NVidia kick EVGA to the curb like XFX? :D

/Conspiracy theory:

NVidia has been known to treat their AIB partners like 2nd class citizens (e.g. XFX). NVidia is slowly pulling out of consumer graphics cards to focus on A.I. / Deep Learning. Getting rid of EVGA would give them an out by 2018.

/End conspiracy theory.
