Best Silent Computer Case for under $130 CAD

Good old Define S or R5 :)

Hey guys, looking to finish off the upgrades that I've been doing to my PC, and seemingly just needing a case. I'm coming from the corsair 200r, its been great, it looks ok and everything I am using fits inside of it.

For my next case I want something a little better at blocking out the noise. I have been doing some research and set a budget and I have found a few options that I think I like.

NZXT H440 (no window) - http://www.ncix.com/detail/nzxt-h440-atx-mid-tower-5b-114600.htm?affiliateid=7474144&promoid=1651

Fractal Design Define S - http://www.directcanada.com/products/?sku=30041107763

Criteria for case:

-Would prefer it to not have window.

-Silent ( most important for me)

-Must fit current build (https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/Q987M8)

-Would prefer matte black. ( or something close to that i.e brushed aluminum or dark colors)

-Budget of roughly $130 CAD

Thanks for any and all help in advance!

I like the aesthetic of the H440 better, and it seems to be slightly easier to build in. But the Define S is compatible with a lot of things, a 360mm rad for example.

I'd go with the H440, try and squeeze in a window if you can.

Can you look at other cases from other brands? I'd recommend the Cooler Master Silencio 652S

Yeah any other case suggestions would be great, I'm not sure I want the window for when I go to university next year and possibly have it in my dorm.

The Phanteks p400s (no window) is amazing! :)

Any idea what the acoustics are like? Realize that it would depend on whats  on the inside, but know of any youtubers that have done any tests?

I love it too, the elite has had my eye since I first saw it. How are the acoustics on it? Also how many case fans does the case come with?

I can barely hear it and it is right next to me (no, I'm not deaf :D) Mine came with 2 case fans.

Seemingly two very different opinions, what are the specs on both of your PC's?

Well the s340 is really just a thin piece of metal. Not good to dampen sound.

My 390 when on full load I hear it when my headphones on when gaming. Unless I have my sound up really loud not coil whine either just the fans of my GPU.

Hmm, I've got the exact same, subtract the SSD. Do you have the elite version?

I'm thinking that I may have to stay away from that case despite how beautiful it is, thanks for the help.

Ahh ok, thinking something with designated noise dampening material may be in line, thanks for the help!

I mean if you get slient fans and never max out your GPU (if it's loud on load) you'll be fine
