In all honesty, it doesn't look anything like Aero. It looks more like what Apple did with the latest version of macOS. And I don't like it.

 

Well, I haven't seen these animations so let's hope those are nice.

Anyone else think that Groove now looks almost identical, UI wise, to Zune Desktop Player? Ahhh Zune... you were one of the best Desktop players out there for your time.

I wish my laptop could use 8.1 instead of 10.... (No driver support :( )

This change looks subtle, and is so-so. Windows 10 generally has a sterile feel to it, IMO.

 

I would prefer to have a Windows 7-style UI as an option, which is why I use startisback, Aero Glass, and I think one other app. I hope that this update isn't going to break 3rd-party Windows 10 mods, like the Anniversary Update did.

I had tried with it before, Lenovo doesn't seem to have all the needed drivers available for download.

 

Might be worth another go if I can get my hands on another m.2 drive to test in it. (That way I don't have to worry about losing my current installation of 10 pro in case it doesn't work out)

I would rather they fix the UI problems like there still being a separate Control Panel vs Settings, for example, over tweaking the visual art style.

That's more of a UX problem than a UI problem.

Sure - but I personally use UX and UI in a somewhat interchangeable manner, even though I realize that they technically are distinct :P

Aww, I really liked the more minimalist ui. If I have the option to disable animations I will.

it really is like the apple ui

i like it, but then again i like osx over windows (in design)

and i use an iphone..

 

as long as its not forcing me to enter in 10 different tabs to get to a thing i want to use, itunes.

Well the names of the packages for that app are called Zune player.

Groove IS Zune. They literally just rebranded it.

 

In any case, those screenshots tell me nothing, I never used a single one of those applications on my desktop, in fact I have deleted them, so I can't even compare "old" vs "new".

Well it's not a literal rebrand, because you can't use it to Sync Windows Mobile devices (Windows 10 Mobile, specifically) - and correct me if I'm wrong, you can't sync Windows Phone 8.1 with it either.

Groove Music is an app for Windows 10 Mobile as well. It's the same app on both Desktop and Mobile.

Well to be honest, Sync never worked for my Zune either... And when it did do something, It would either double every songs or somehow delete everything... 

And we do have Groove on Window Phone, it has support for continuum (as useless as that is right now) and it also does have a "sync" option in the settings. I honestly have no clue what it does though or how it works, it just says "Sync complete" when I click it and doesn't seems to actually do anything?

It syncs your music across devices using OneDrive if i'm not mistaken.

IIRC Grove is able to sync player information through Onedrive if you have it [not the music itself just the playlists you own]. I don't know from experience as I don't use anything but Pandora.

What are they trying to accomplish exactly?

 

They keep changing stuff around so you constantly need to adjust to their changes and once you are somewhat used to it BAM it's all changed again...

 

If they want so many designs, what about giving the USER the choice? Yea that's a crazy idea isn't it? (it isn't...)

There is theme stuff probably somewhere in W10 so why don't continue developing that so we can decide for ourself what look we want...

Oh I see, that's why it does nothing then. I don't use OneDrive.
