rx 480 [Review] Is this worst RX 480 4GB ever? It is not... sadly

Today I got myself a treat

I have received an RX 480 4GB from Newegg

 

It is also the cheapest 1080p card ( I don't consider RX 470/1050 Ti or any other card a good 1080p match)

Price: 254.99 Canadian Dollars (with tax and shipping is 301.69 where I use standard Ground International shipping for 11.99 as pick up at Richmond Hill warehouse was not available sadly)

Don't be mistaken with a dual fan/cooler Red Dragon which also happens to be a 480 4GB

This card is even cheaper than any GTX 1060 3GB out there 

 

The price of a GTX 980 used on kjiji is around 300 CAD (a guy agreed to go 320 CAD for an Asus Strix 980)

Had to use imgur because of excessive amount of pictures I took and this time I used a high quality Canon G7 (still better than my Samsung S5 Neo phone camera)

 

First off is the front of the box. Nothing special. Oh yeah. If you look closely they did actually put a 4GB GDDR5 sticker on it. Maybe did not bother printing it or forgot about it so customer won't complain why PowerColor took half of VRAM from them. I mean you should look at it before you buy who would not do that? 

 

VR Ready? I ain't got money for VR headset or VR games

HDR Ready? AMD FreeSync? I am running a 60Hz TN panel, give me a break

DX12? Well nice. I have Windows 10. That's something nice I got out from

FinFet? Wtf is FinFet? Are there 14 of them or is that version 14?

Next is the back of the box. Yeah they just give you a heads up/guide on what you need. Typical. Though I don't understand what Blu Ray has to do with all of this? Also no Windows 8 support?

AMD True Audio? But I connect to a DVI cable. Did I lose anything or do I need HDMI?

LiquidVR? Sounds like someone is trying to liquid cool a card so it can do VR

VSR is basically AMD's equivalent of DSR right? But I heard 480 is not meant for 4K gaming? Unless you tryna upscale my porn to 4K and downscale it back to 1080p

A display with digital port is required (HDMI or DisplayPort)? Bitch please. DVI here. See, they are lying. LYING...

And some other useless stuff like GCN and Vulkan and some logos/icons saying you should not trash it but is the green circle one means recycleble? Can I put it in my Recycle Garbage bin? It is recycable but on the other hand I can not put it to a bin. So confusing.

 

Again the sticker. Did they put a sticker for 1060 3gb/6gb cards? I would love to know.

 

And one thing. The color of the text is somewhat velvet red if you were wondering. The exact same color RX series been using. Not red.

Inside of the box are some manuals that I threw away lol. And the CD disc of ... ATI? Whhaaat? Anyway already have latest Crimson driver installed. At the time of me writing I am already using the card. So far doesn't overheat or make any noise to me. I think I might need to replace my stock CPU cooler to hear my card better.

30-40 C idle and usage is around 10% idle

This is the point where you undervolt (need to unlock voltage control on Afterburner), then stress test. Also tweak the fan curve to hit 85C or whatever temp you think is fine.
