I'm just waiting to trade up my 1080 to a 1080ti. Hopefully the price of the 1080 drops so i won't have to pay as much.

You're hoping for the price of something you're planning to sell to go down? What kind of next level economics are those?

EVGA Step-Up. If the 1080 prices go down then to make room for the 1080ti then the 1080ti msrp will be closer to the price of the 1080 pre 1080ti release. With EVGA Step-Up it goes by the price you payed for the GPU and you pay the difference between the one you have and the one you want.

I predict an $800-$999 price tag and I also predict that everyone will act like it's a complete surprise and travesty. Anyone who expects the price to be that close to the 1080 isn't thinking too hard. Unless vega will beat the 1080 for around $700 and Nvidia already knows about it then $800-$999 is spot on.

It's possible they price it close to the 1080 and subsequently drop 1080 prices, but I also wouldn't put it past them to price it high now to milk money and drop it once (if) AMD has something that competes with it.

Your purchase of a 1080 also has to be within 90 days of you purchasing a 1080 Ti.

Come on. nVidia also wants to sell 1080s and Titans. If it's too close to the price of a 1080 nobody will buy 1080s when for $100-$150 more you can get heaps more performance with a 1080Ti, but nVidia also wants to sell Titans which tells the same story: nobody buys Titans if a 1080Ti comes in at or over the performance of a Titan (remember, no Titan non-FE boards exist whereas a 1080Ti will have custom board/cooler editions) but far under the price of a Titan.

 

I expect something in the neighbourhood of around $899-$949. It's a price that makes sense for nVidia.

Woot! Bring it on! Can't decide if I'll get a TI or someone else's 1080.  If it's anything like when the 1080 dropped, people won't be able to sell their cards fast enough.

That would have to be a pretty big price drop for a card that's only been out for about 6 months.

 

I'm sticking to my guns $800 minimum, most likely original 1080 price +$100 or more.

 

$850 is my sweet spot, let's get the bets in!

I'm expecting some 1070 and 1080 mark downs as well, and see the 1080 Ti launch at $649 or $699 (AIB MSRP). We'll have to wait and see I guess.
