Acer reveals $9000 21 inch gaming laptop...

Mr.Meerkat
Quote

Remember when gaming laptops were big, heavy, and prohibitively expensive? Apparently those days are not over.  Not for Acer anyway, which will soon make available its previously announced Predator 21 X laptop starting at $8,999 (£9,999).

Interested? Well here are some specs:

Quote

21-inch screen, 21:9 aspect ratio, 2,560x1,080-pixel resolution

120GHz refresh rate

2000R curved screen

Nvidia G-Sync

Tobii Eye Tracking

Two Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 GPUs

Seventh-gen Intel Core i7-7820HK (overclockable) CPU

Mechanical keyboard uses Cherry MX switches and has an RGB LED under every key

Sounds good? Well it only weighs 8.8KG and well...is a proper desktop replacement...

Spoiler

What other neat features do it have? The numpad is a touchpad under-neath so you can turn it around for dem touchpad users, ermmmm it's a brick?

I mean is it a good idea? Not really, what's the point in 21:9 in a laptop when there is literally going to be zero vertical screen estate?

With the curved screen, is it nice? Yep, is it going to make the laptop a lot thicker? Yep but I guess a few extra CM doesn't matter when it's already a couple of CM thick anyway.

Edit:

Linus has officially touched the device :D

120GHz refresh rate? DisplayPort 9001!?

Why did I have to scroll this far

only for the laser eye implants of the future

Anyways, for $9000 it better be 100% Titanium chassis, this looks like cheap plastic like always. Chump trap.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

He said, as well as the guy above him, 120 Ghz refresh rate. That is indeed very high framerate.
