I mean... it may not be handy for your use case, but it is handy for some people in an era where many graphics cards only have one HDMI out.

Why does the modmic sound terrible there

The Razer Seiren sounds pretty terrible too.

Not really a super good testing environment I would assume.

So, the modmic sounds horrid in the video, but I'm seeing a bunch of people saying it sounds considerably better than that. I'm just wondering where the screw-up happened.

Sorry guys. I wanna say sorry if I made the LMG team feel bad about me or offended them in any way

Very dumb question, but how would you control the fans with the Silverstone 1-to-8 PWM Fan Hub? Does it come with some kind of software in the computer where you can control them?

Why did the mic portion of the video actually make a better case for the "gaming" headphones than for the Mod Mic or Razer mic? The "Gaming" headsets sounded way better than the other 2, which seems to be the opposite of what you guys were trying to prove.

I mean this with all the love in the world but if the audio on the mic test for a product you are recommending is that screwed up why is this video "Audio fix coming soon" instead of pulling the video down and reuploading when the audio is fixed?

The rest of the video is still valid

The mod mic on the new version still sounds like hissing ass. The Cloud X and Kraken Pro V2 sound a lot better. The Razer Seiren Pro does sound a hell of a lot better in the re-uploaded version though, but for $300+ CAD, doesn't help for people looking for tech under $100 :(.

After the reupload, I still conclude that pretty much every gaming headset i've had has had a better mic than the mod mic. You should do a comparison between apple earpods mic and this: the apple clearly out performs it and yo ucan just clip the mic to your shirt and use different headphones. So much for objectivity.

I have a 2019 macbook pro with 64gb of ram and my gaming pc has been in the closet since 2018

Based on other reviews and comparisons of the Modmic I'd say this is not an accurate representation of it's quality, even with the fixed audio version. I'd like to see this revisited, maybe with soundcloud audio clips of several mics like older LTT reviews. If however this is representative of the Modmic it's a hard pass from me. I wouldn't buy a mic that sounds like that for $20, let alone $70!

Yeah. In https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgCMRai9K8I it sounds fine(4.0 though) so something is obviously wrong here. Positioning of the mic maybe? Didn't really pay attention to if they differ that much.

If a company makes a thunderbolt "hub" that has the Mac OS compatible hardware facing the Mac, and I plug in an "incompatible" device to the "hub", does the Mac refuse to use the device? Or, does the Mac only see what hardware the "hub" is using and let me use the device?

As someone who has a MM 5.0, it sounds equivalent to the AT-2020 I replaced with it. In my case, I am using the USB adapter, as plugging directly into my computer does produce hiss and noise.

Here is a quick recording I made: https://clyp.it/w51kw5c4?token=75dae8a83badef1b8b42629bbd18559c
