Do you agree with nVidia's GPU pricing... - IT HAS DOUBLED!

WhiteSkyMage

I personally don't care at the moment, as I've recently bought 2x GTS 250 1GB for less than $50, new in box+sealed, and will only be upgrading to a second GTX 970 (second hand more than likely) in the future (gotta have SLI in all of my rigs, from my Slot1 rig with its 2x 12MB Voodoo2, to my LGA775 rig and my LGA1150 rig)

Hopefully my 970 doesn't die on me because that's honestly all I need right now.

Same here, though with mine I do have it underclocked by 100MHz (its a G1 Gaming), and since I've removed the drive cage+put the 970 into the lower slot, its getting far more airflow than it was before (cool air blown directly under it from the bottom front fan, and hot air extracted directly via the side panel fan)

sorry man, but Geforce experience is terrible. it crashes half the time, requires a login to use, etc. wished nvidia would just separate shadowplay from it - it's not a bad recording solution.

i caved in for a 1070 when i got a 1440p monitor but found that a 280x wasn't enough in some of the more demanding titles. but honestly i should have gotten a 980ti. at least when Vega comes out and is worthwhile i could sell my 1070

The logging in bit is no big deal. This forum tracks you more than the GFE. Why you get notifications ;)

It is when it forgets your logins and refuses to allow you to reset the password.

Maybe people think they already pay for the service when they buy the graphics card. They don't have to surrender extra information in order to use it. Also AMD's solution doesn't need to login.

From the industry side that information has a huge impact on how easy it is to improve the service. Who uses it, where they use it, all these things matter.

Wasn't long ago we had phone books, people post on Twitter when they take a shit. But somehow login in is bad?

Come on. Let's be serious,  or at least try to be.

And you didn't answer on the smart phone, the number one threat to your privacy.

Call me crazy, but I think that the RX 480 and GTX 1060 should have performed like a GTX 1070 instead of like a GTX 980.

For the price? I disagree if you mean for the price. I'd say GTX 1070 level performance should've been ~$320 at the least.

The GTX 1070 costs around $400. I know you were referencing the GTX 980Ti price.

The GTX 980 (and the 980Ti for that matter) was overpriced as shit.

I wouldn't be surprised if next year's GTX 1160 is similar to a GTX 1070 for $200-250.

Lol. I'm butt hurt since the performance jump from the 700 series is not enough lol.

I watched this video the other night and could only shake my head the entire time.  He really doesn't seem to understand either economics or the industry at all.  The entire video is built on a false premise.  That being the idea of a current Generation Titan X(P) being the equivalent of a GTX480 when it was released.  This is of course completely false.  The modern equivalent of a 480 is the 1080.  Which is not only priced similarly but targets the same exact audience.

What Nvidia has done is Expand their offering.  They now take their lineup higher and lower than they used too.

His video is the computer equivalent of complaining that a 2017 Acura TL costs more than a 2010 Honda Accord did when it was released.   They are different products targeting a different segment of the market.

Tell my tale to those who ask. Tell it truly; the ill deeds along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly.

But you see how the manufacturers can't win, right? Too big a jump and the snowflakes without the money for new hardware get pissed, and too small a jump and the snowflakes with too much money get pissed.

Plus this feeds the console media machine that you have to upgrade a PC every year. And make developers lazy as they don't have to optimize, just let the stronger hardware pick up the slack. Look at the games that have launched since Pascal and Polaris.

You crazy boi
