Motherboard for a 6850k

Found a deal for this motherboard. - ASUS X99-Deluxe/USB3.1 for $239.99, pre-tax.

My question is that (I was also eyeing the Asus Strix x99 board, MSI x99 Gaming Pro Carbon, and the Asus X99 Deluxe II) is it worth forking over the extra $100-$150 to get a newer generation motherboard, or is the original one I linked fine with no issues (other than updating the bios to support Broadwell-E)? Thanks!

The newer generation X99 motherboards (I call them X99 Gen2) are really similar to generation 1 of X99. in reality the only difference is a few features (newer usb, etc.) and ports (the newer motherboard might have better hardware features but the first gen does fine already).Its realy not that much worth going for the newer boards if you already have the older one, and like you mentioned all you need to do is simply update the bios to support Broadwell-E. This review from Hardware Canucks goes in depth about it (first 2 pages explain well X99 and whats happening) : http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/72729-msi-x99a-gaming-pro-carbon-motherboard-review.html
