Okay?  So you only like retro consoles?  That's fine. I do, too, but that doesn't make them any different from the latest two generations.

I guess it comes down to personal preference, does't it? I prefer GameBoy Advance and PS2 over any other. But that doesn't make them any better than the rest (or does it?).

If it's the hardware, then wipe the first Xbox from the list, because the Xbox was the first "may as well be a PC" in terms of hardware for a console.

 

If it's the software, then you may as well claim every device today is trying to be a PC, but last I checked, smartphones, tablets, media streaming devices, and all that served a specific purpose that PCs don't really fulfill. They could fulfill it, but they do it clunky at best.

Why do people think consoles are trying to be pc's? Theyve all had something in common with pc's ever since the dawn of time, they try to get the best they can for the size and budget using ram, a cpu, and later on video cards... Whats wrong with that?

It's funny that the OP said that to be a "true console" the hardware had to not attempt to be a PC. Then lists the original XBox which was more of a PC than pretty much every console ever made that wasn't the PS4/XBOne. But ignores everything Nintendo made except for their one console that was, for its time, the most like what the PS4/XBOne are trying to be now.
