Asus Display Widget Software won't work

This thread is in top of google. So I will give some answer.
Just bought Asus ROG XG27VQ and got same problem.
But, the problem was that I could not find a working version of DisplayWidget in the internet...
The version that now googling is 1.1...
I found the working copy on complected CD... and it version is 3.0.4

I just got an Asus MG248Q monitor. When I tried downloading the Asus Display Widget from Asus website the program won't load. Saw there was a reddit post about it and another LTT forum tread about it but with no answers.

here's a video of downloading it

And yes i tried to turn the PC on and off

And yes i tried to turn the PC on and off

try running it as administrator? try installing it directly on a drive and not into program files. program files is a protected folder and in windows 10 older programs sometimes get cockblocked by it. i dunno, if that doesn't work contact asus.

Just got mine too (MG248Q)

And i the exact same problem, it just starts and then appears in the bottom for a couple of seconds...

I really don't know what to do!!! :(

Well its good that im not the only one, I'm at least going to take contact with Asus regarding that.

When i wrote that i didn't even know that you could press the red button and get the exact same thing!

So i wouldn't be that sad if you don't find out what the problem is (It would be nice though ;)) xD

Did you guys ever get this working? same problem over here. Did you try a full reinstall? another question? yours aren't refurbished are they?

I had the same issues as most here.  Widget not working etc.       It worked for me after i downloaded direct from Asus support for Win 10 page

 

www.asus.com/support/Download/13/45/0/5/IUZtlKCvyjGxk3Gj/45/

 

The 144 question...    you will only get 144 if using Display port..   not HDMI etc.

Confirming that the file still works on Windows 10 (April 2018)

I'm getting a minor script error before opening the menu though, but it seems the program works anyways.

Hey buddy, i have the same problem, the software on the web site is the 1.1 and it's not working. I checked on my CD and it is the same 1.1 version, could you re-upload your 3.0.4 version? Can't find it anyware! Thank you much for replying 3 year later haha

Years later and this still isn't working. Would be extremely useful as my button is broken and I don't want to have to send it back just for that.
