unreliable CPU temps

klooless

Hi guys,

I recently did a stress test for my CPU and I noticed that the temps are really weird. The issue started when I had to change my old faulty power supply "not sure how that is related"

Notice that I got my 6700k OC at Vcore1.295 4.5 GHz - and I'm using a Corsair 110i to cool it

--idle at 35avg but it fluctuates A LOT when it’s under load (see stress test)--

Did anyone have a similar problem? what should I look for?

Measure using Real temp GT and look at the Core temps

The temps you have there are for the package

Also I would remount your cpu cooler and make sure all the fans are spinning up

IntelCorei54670k,Maximus VI Formula,Swift tech H220, 16gigs Corsair Dominator platinums, Asus DCUII GTX 780,1x256 840 evo, 1x 2TB Segate barracuda, Corsair AX 860,

3 X Noctua NF-F12, 2x Noctua NF A-14, Ducky Shine 3 Blue Leds Blue switches, Razer Death Adder 2012, Corsair vengence 1400

Might be due to your fan speeds. When CPU temp gets to high, fan spins a bit faster. CPU cools down, fans stop spinning that fast >>> you notice fluctuations. Average temps are a nice straight line, nu huge fluctuations. Also, stress test is non-stop 100% usage, not what real life usage is. (like idle spike idle spike semi idle spik...)
