Dell TN or AOC IPS 1440

knightslugger

Looking at these two g-sync monitors:

Dell S2716DG $600usd TN technology 144hz

AOC AG271QG $750usd IPS technology 165hz

Now I'm not a competitive gamer by any stretch. I'm more into immersion and vivid colors. For the extra $150usd do you believe the AOC is a worthwhile investment?

[FS][US] Corsair H115i 280mm AIO-AMD $60+shipping

System specs:
Asus Prime X370 Pro - Custom EKWB CPU/GPU 2x360 1x240 soft loop - Ryzen 1700X - Corsair Vengeance RGB 2x16GB - Plextor 512 NVMe + 2TB SU800 - EVGA GTX1080ti - LianLi PC11 Dynamic

IIRC IPS has been kind of a lottery for 1440p 144hz but idk if that's just with Asus and Acer.

If you can go for the IPS

that dell monitor is actually one of the better TN panels for a monitor. when calibrated it's very close to IPS
