So my main question is: Will I, as an average player, notice a significant difference in gameplay if I buy a wired mouse and or keyboard?

No, not really.

you'll probably notice more difference from the sensor on a good wired mouse like the G402/502.

You won't really have much difference from just going wireless to wired. Going wireless to decent wired (really any $25 keyboard and a Logitech G303/G402/Anything Zowie amongst other stuff) mouse is a whole new world, though. The G402 is $30 on Newegg right now.

Thanks for the replies, so the difference will be minor, especially when it comes to the keyboard. I don't really like the 'gamer look' that the G series of Logitech has, I'm more a fan of the desgin that Zowie has. Unfortunately all their mice are over 55 euros for me. Any other good suggestions, or should I just stick with this untill I'm willing to spend more?

EDIT:

Found this: http://genesis-zone.com/en/product/g33-optical-gaming-mouse/ How do I determine wheter or not the sensor that's being used is good? Are there certain specifications I should look out for or does this come down to good reviews?

As a person who has recently really upgraded his gear recently and played over 1k hours of CS:GO (and Source before that), I think I'm in a position to answer this question. First of all, your mouse. If it's good quality wireless, like Logitech G700s you won't find much of a differance in terms of the sensor and latency but if it's one of the Amazon or eBay cheap mice there may be a huge differance, mainly in the sensor. I upgraded from a wired mouse that had a sensor with reported acceleration and I noticed a significant differance. I wouldn't worry about the keyboard that much to be honest, it's not crucial. Again, the lag shouldn't be that bad. If you're upgrading, go wired mechanical.

In short, if you're upgrading your gear go wired and get a mouse with a good sensor (3310/3066 or 3059 on a budget) and a mechanical keyboard. Also, if you're serious with improving at CS, get a 144Hz monitor. The difference is night and day, everyone will agree. I think n0thing from C9 convinced me to switch in one of his videos.

If you have a phone with actual slow motion (120/240fps) you can try to record when you click a button or flick your mouse and when action appears on the screen. Analyse it frame by frame to figure out how long it took for it to output on the screen. I think Linus did it in one of his old videos, FreeSync vs GSync I think?

When you go for an unknown brand like that its always a bit of a risk. If you looking for a good value mouse that does not have the gamer look of the Logitech G series i would recommend the Steelseries Rival 100
