Is 750W PSU overkill for my rig?

ermu

I am planning to buy a rig with i5-6500 and no video cards for the moment, but I will get at least a 1050Ti when I have the budget. Also, I don't plan on overclocking and will only use the system for light gaming and rendering.

Now, my friend has a great deal for a secondhand Seasonic G-series 750W 80+ gold at around $50 only. Should I get this or will this PSU be an overkill?

Well. There are deals on Seasonic S12II new. The 620B (620w) is for $49.99 only.

Overkill? Yes. Should you get it? If it works fine then yes. G series are better than S12II

For the amount that you pay for a normal PSU, that's a great deal, nothing is overkill unless your paying overkill. If it's in good shape then take the offer.

You can get a decent 650w psu for $50 so if the second hand one your looking at works I would go for it, opens open your computer for some higher end hardware down the line

That G-series for 50 dollars is a good deal. Just buy it, doesn't matter that it's overkill.
