why is it that when i wake from sleep my start menu is popped up?

Happens to me too. I think Windows 10 just puts it to sleep in the exact state it was.

Every time I wake from sleep this is what i see and I don't know why.  It's a small problem but it's driving me nuts.

If you go to sleep from the start menu, it will remain open when you wake it back up.

Just go into Windows Power Options and configure you power button as a sleep button.  Every time you press it after that, the system will go to sleep.
