Can't post a status update

g12601
Go to solution Solved by colonel_mortis,

I think this is fixed now, though I'm not entirely sure why what I did actually helped.

The text box won't open.

Problem started this morning when I wanted to post something. I did it on my school issued Chromebook and thought that was the problem. Later, I tried again on the desktop. Same problem, the text box would not open. So I tried on edge and that failed as well. So I am not sure what is going on.

I have no idea how to use a VM.

Update: Just tried it on my laptop and it also does not work.

I would send one of the moderators a message to see if they can help.

@colonel_mortis already follows this subforum. Just wait until he reads this. No need to PMs with such low priority issue.

Can you open the dev tools using F12, then switch to the network tab. Try opening the status editor, then after about 10 seconds, when it's failed, take a screenshot of what is logged, and post it here. If you could then switch to the console tab, and screenshot and post that if there's anything other than the warning about not pasting things into it.

Also, do you only have issues at school, or is it broken at home too?

I have the same issue on both my home PC and the PC's at college, the text box on the main forum page wont open to type in, but if i click the dropdown on my user name in the top right and choose update status, that loads and lets me post a status just fine.

As for doing the above, after opening the network tab and clicking the status text box, nothing appears in the log, same when in the console tab. refreshing the page does give an error, so that could be it?

That worked for me, just front page seems to be borked.

I think this is fixed now, though I'm not entirely sure why what I did actually helped.
