PSU fan not spinning?!

Vishvas Sudarshan

@STRMfrmXMN @Energycore @Naeaes @manikyath @Dawson Wehage

It spun! Yes, first time. Now I'm relived that my unit isn't defective. Here's how, if your interested-

I was in the process of overclocking my GPU and was running Heaven to test stability.

15 min into the test....My PSU surface temp was around 45°C (As measured by my not so accurate surface temp instrument)

Then I suddenly heard another sound, I knew my case fans were already set to 100%, so hoping for the best I just looked into the back of my PSU, and hot air was being exhausted. Using a small torch flashlight(edit), I could clearly see the fan spinning!

And I was surprised at how low the temp of the PSU dropped later, to about 32°C in less than 6 min!

Just thought of sharing it with you guys! :)

My bad, replace 'torch' with Flashlight

I kid I know some places say torch instead of flashlight. :D

My PSU is a Corsair RM650. And the fan spins for a few seconds on power up on my WIP build. But then it stops. What does this mean? I'm guessing it's too cold considering my home is cold most of the time

The fan only spins when required, when your PSU gets too hot, so your PSU is fine
