Seriously just want to point out that some random picture of a screen means nothing, and having a picture of the screen vs a screenshot doesn't make it any more legit.

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

There's going to be some hurt feelings if this is true.

This is my tired and old 5960x at 4.8 GHz.  65.6% higher so Ryzen would have to overclock to say... 5.6 GHz+ and hope that it scaled perfectly to score a 1968cb.  It can't be that shitty, can it?

why DDR3? DDR4 is that same price but faster and more efficient

I already have 16GB of DDR3L and both of my DIMMS are near enough brand new so there's no point in buying more RAM just so i can use a new platform when my workload isn't all that heavy. I guess I'll be staying with haswell or moving to skylake with my new PC.

That sucks but it is stupid to support DDR3 when it is being phased out. can't you try and sell it?

Looks like it will perform somewhere between a i7-4790 and a i7-6900

that is quite a large margin.

L3 cache goes way back to socket 478 with the Pentium 4 Extreme Edition. Back then cpus have L1 and L2 cache, want L3, then pay Intel $1,000 just to get it. The Pentium Extreme Edition ran at 3.4GHz and it came with 2MB of L3 cache. Compare to today's cpu of 25MB like the 6950X, the 2MB L3 seem small. But back then when cpus only have like 512KB L2, that 2MB is a lot.

Yea I excluded that 1 CPU as it was an outlier and based on even back then a rather special Xeon. L3 cache as of the old days (I'm talking even older than 478) were found on the motherboard rather than in the CPU package and wildly expensive, mind you everything was back then lol. Pretty much why I said mainstream cos weird shit happened in the dark ages of computing.

Is that eight physical or logical cores?
