Witcher 3 Ram?

Littlelaner

Hey guys, been playing the witcher 3 for awhile and a few times now it has black screened on me, I usually alt tab out and then go back into the game and all is fine. The most recent time I got a windows alert saying computer is low on system memory, close the witcher 3 to prevent data loss. Is this because I do not have enough ram? I have never had this error occur in any other games. Thanks in advance.

P.S. - I have google chrome open with 4 tabs, one being a YouTube video playing in the background.

I have 8 GB RAM, and sometime chrome open for map locations or other stuff, never saw such issue. IIRC system RAM usage never went above 7 GB, don't remember how much exactly Witcher 3 used, but surely it was less than 4 GB.

I played on 1080p high/ultra settings.

Finally got PS4 Pro

Lol oops, 8gb ram. 6700k and 1070 strix to go with it, if that matters.

Have you guys ever seen something like this before?

I'm playing witcher 3, ultra with no hairworks, on 8Gbs of RAM no problem.

IIRC you can use MSI afterburner to monitor RAM usage.

CPU: Intel i5-4590 | Motherboard: Asus H97M-E | GPU: Sapphire Nitro R9 390 | RAM: 2x4Gb Kingston HyperX Fury Black | SSD: Sandisk Plus 240Gb HDD: Seagate 250Gb  | PSU: Seasonic G650 80+ Gold | Case: NZXT S340

I am who I am.

You should be fine with that hardware.

As Ddave said, use MSI afterburner or some monitoring tool with OSD to check RAM usage while playing game.

I seem to remember seeing my system with 16gb going over 8gb when playing witcher 3, but I also use the ram cache for SSD feature on my 850 EVO so that takes up a bit too.
