Replacing Old Laptop switches with Mechanical Switches

I recently found that the switches in my laptop keyboard broke, it's been years and i wanna upgrade to a mechanical keyboard switches. Any ideas on how to do it? I have no experience in fixing keyboards so just gimme a few tips on that. Also, step by step stuff on how to do it. Thanks for reading!!! xD

Step 1: Plug in USB mechanical keyboard.

Step 2: Power up your laptop to test

Step 3: Your upgrade is complete

 

All joking aside though, this would be a hell of a lot of work and likely not worth it/not possible.

Will be keeping a close eye on this thread if you do find a way though!

Hahahaha, owell, i have no experience at this stuff, just wondering. So i don't think i would be able to. Just asking only. Thanks though. xD

Was literally just thinking of replying with this. 

 

I've not heard of anyone who has even attempted to swap out keys on a keyboard of a laptop with mechanical ones.

Unfortunately it would be nearly impossible, but it would be really awesome if you could pull it off somehow.

Not possible.

Laptop keyboards have slimline dome keys. Just use an USB keyboard

unless you want a couple if inches of tallness on your keypad for your PCB and switches, then no.

 

Get a Anne pro, Bluetooth with Gateron switches, pretty damn good quality for the price.

If you have a 15" laptop, I would suggest that you get a TKL size keyboard. 15" fits a TKL perfectly, and you won't have to worry about the keyboard pressing the keys on your laptop when you don't want it to.
