Corsair Strafe Media Keys

Hey guys (and gals), I just got my Corsair Strafe (non-RGB, MX Brown) yesterday. I was playing around with it, and realized that the function key needs to be pressed to activate the media keys. Is there any way to make the F11 pause, F12, skip, F10 rewind, F9 stop, F5 mute, and F7&8 as volume toggles without having to hold down the FN key? Thanks in advance, appreciate any advice/help!

There is very often a setting that says "must press function to access function keys"

 

At least on mac there is. You can either have them function as the function keys without pressing fn (F1-F12) or have them function as the media keys without pressing fn.

I know for laptop if you go to BIOS you can change the FN function to on and off so when instead of for example FN+F1 for volume up you would just press F1

See the software for Corsair has any help

you can remap the keys with the corsair software, but you won't be able to then use the F keys as normal unless you made and extra profile and set a key to switch between them

I think for other buttons you can do similar thing but I don't own a Corsair so can't be more help

A workaround (Working on my side) is available though.

1. Click the assignments tab.
2. Right click the key you want to remap the volume up/down to.
3. Click Remap Key/button
4. Select Media key under the dropdown menu
5. Select Volume Up/Down and press OK.
6. The keys should now work.
