We need something different than just black and red and black and white. The same motherboard should come in different colors.

Too much cost.

Make it transparent and do rgb.

@goodtofufriday

The m.2 shield is the only thing with a actual function. As they get really hot. Amazon have adapter cards with heatsinks.

Hey, that M.2 shield thing is actually a really good thing.

Most people have no clue how hot SSD controllers (and the NAND itself) get hurting them in performance.

I'd love to use that RGB lighting in my fully enclosed Define S with no window.  I wouldn't see it, but I know it'd be a disco rave!

Told you that MSI was making passive heat sinks for M.2 with their new boards.

My Gigabyte Z97x gaming 5 had it so atleast back to that generation. I would imagine there were 8 series boards with it too.

Why must everything be RGB now. I imagine all it does is inflate the cost of the MB and I would PREFER to have no flashy lights on it at all.

It's RGB, you can turn it off

Yeah but my point is I'd end up paying for something I don't want. That's easy enough if RGB doesn't end up on everything, but it seems to be common now for whatever the flagship product is to be RGB as it's the current gimmick the industry is trying to increase sales with.

There's nothing really wrong with gimmicks, if it appeals to someone, then great they got what they wanted.

Obviously there's going to be motherboards that don't have it.

Also I'm sure it doesn't cost that much to put a few little lights on a product seeing as how these are gonna be expensive (most likely) already

It's pretty minor, but finaly their audio path is RGB. My white and black theme with this red light going across the bottom left of my board triggers my OCD. xD

It's about time one of them did RGB trace lighting right there.

My mobo has a red led path, but my color scheme was going to be orange/purple.
