Please HELP! Dual Xeon build optimization + overclocking

Hi LTT forum gurus,

 

I have built the below budget rig and was hopping to overclock the CPUs (as they are unlocked) but can not find a way to do it in BIOS. This forum is probably the last hope for me... Would you also be able to help me on optimizing this build?

 

SPECIFICATION:

MB: Tyan S7012GM4NR / S7012GM4NR-B Dual Intel socket LGA1366 DDR3 motherboard

Dual CPUs:  Intel Xeon X5650 (12M Cache, 2.66 GHz, 6.40 GT/s Intel® QPI)

RAM: 72GB (18x4GB) DDR3 PC3-10600R 1333 MHz 240-Pin ECC REG RDIMM KVR1333D3D4R9S/4G

GPU: Asus GTX 970 Strix 4GB

PSU: Seasonic M12 II Bronze Evo 850W Modular 80 Plus Bronze

STORAGE: 1 x SSD (Win 10) + RAID0 500GB (For start)

MONITOR:Acer GN246HL Bbid 24-Inch 3D Gaming Display (144Hz Refresh Rate)
 

Other:

MICE: Corsair M65 Pro

KB: Razer Blackwidow (Mechanical)

2 Ports USB 3.0 + eSATA 3.0 + SATA 3.0 + Pin Combo PCI-E Card Adapter (No on-board USB3 support)

USB Sound card (No on-board sound)

3 x Pack of Arctic F12 120mm (Front)

2 x Cooler Master hyper 212 EVO

 

P.S. Planning to buy additional 120GB SSD to create RAID 1 with the existing SDD to compensate on board SATA2 speed bottleneck.

the dual cpu server boards don't tend to support overclocking

p.s. where did you get the mobo from I'm looking for a 1366 board

1. You won't be able to overclock on that board.

2. No, get a PCI SSD or a PCI to sata 3. Raid on SSDs...

I know, but I heard that there are ways.. also with software too.. Got MB in eBay, just be careful with BIOS version as lower ones support only 5500 series CPUs. You have to buy 5500 one, upgrade BIOS and only then can use 5600 series.

ok thanks, and there is no software way unless your mobo supports hardware overclocking

Yes, one like this. What's got me that they have many PCIe 16 w/8 and ends of them are cut through.. The only downsides are that it has no sound and just SATA2 (but with intel RAID)

That has a x16 and you can get PCI to Sata 3

Could be a pain to setup but I suppose it will give you sata 2 pefomance. This is making me want to build a 1366 server.

This MB have on board Intel RAID support. But SATA2, so I think if I do RAID1 with two 120GB SSDs it might reach up to 1GB/s read and around 600-700MB/s write. I wouldn't need PCI SSD or PCIe->SATA3 controler anymore as space is limited with GTX 970 and USB 3 controler.

No it won't. It'll do Sata 3 speeds as it cant go faster than SSD for each drive.

Im not talking about RAID 0, it's RAID 1 where speed is more likely double as fragments of data will be written to 2 SSD's at the time. 2 x SATA2 RAID 1 > 1 x SATA3  right?

Anyway, I've ordered one more SSD to create a RAID1, I'll see how it goes today or tomorrow.
