CPU & FANS QUESTION!!

Can you re-use an old cpu and fan that you have used before an my old pc. My concerns are: the thermal paste, when upgrading a new cpu and fan do i keep the old ones attached together and keep it in storage, will the old cpu and fans work?

New thermal paste is always advised

Just clean off all thermal paste with alcohol and put on new thermal pate in the new build.

Not even related to the question but make sure your cpu and new mobo are the same socket type :P

 

and its advised to change the thermal paste when you remove the cooler, thought you don't necessarily have to
